Janne Viskari

Janne Viskari is working as a director at the Population Register Centre of Finland and leads the implementation of the National Architecture for Digital Services, a government programme funded by the Ministry of Finance. The Populations Register Centre is a key actor in the digitalization of the Finnish public sector. The programme has created a digital infrastructure platform, the Suomi.fi services, for both public and private use. The platform includes a strong e-identification service and digital post for public organizations, the National Data Exchange Layer based on X-Road technology, a role-based Digital Authorizations service, a national e-government portal for citizens, entrepreneurs and civil servants and the Finnish Service Catalogue, a centralized information resource of all public services and service channels. Moreover, the Population Register Centre is working closely with the Ministry of Finance on a MyData-inspired pilot project which investigates how to incorporate the idea of consent and other necessary mechanisms into Finland’s public digital services.
