Päivi Karkkola

Mrs Päivi Karkkola serves as Legal Adviser in the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (Trafi). Her responsibilities include data protection and open data. She has several years of experience concerning data disclosure, open data, and data protection.

Authorities’ role is to provide register data as extensively and easily as possible while maintaining citizens’ trust in information. She is excited to develop Trafi’s open data and be a part of creating new public digital services and enabling novel data based transport services and business. Päivi also pleased to provide her knowledge to customers in realising operations that adhere to the data protection principles and requirements
