Titiana Ertiö

Titiana is a project researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Turku. She studies the role of mobile technologies for civic engagement. She is interested in the impact of mobile apps on participation and new forms of participation they enable. Adopting a constructionist view is an overarching goal in her research; technologies are seen as emerging from the interactions among different stakeholder groups. In the context of the Digital Disruption of Technology project, Titiana studies who participates in online media creation and how they adopt new practices and business models proposed by companies, such as participating in crowdsourcing or the platform economy.
