Helena Haapio

Dr Helena Haapio is a contracts lawyer and a leading advocate of proactive approaches to contract design. She works as International Contract Counsel at Lexpert Ltd and as Associate Professor of Business Law at the University of Vaasa. In 2013, she published Next Generation Contracts – A Paradigm Shift. Her recent research focuses on ways to use visualization, simplification, and other information design methods to transform complex legal documents to useful, usable tools that work for business, people, and machines. She is co-founder and co-leader of the ProActive ThinkTank and of the Nordic School of Proactive Law.
